The Wolfman 2025 Movie Review The Wolfman starring, Julia Garner and Christopher Abbott has been out for a couple of weeks now. Released in the US on July 17th, it had a lackluster box office opening weekend of just a little over 10 million. One of Them Days Movie Review One of Them Days premiered at number two at the box office with Mufasa: The Lion King rising to the top again after being dethroned by Den of Thieves: Pantera the previous weekend.  Listen below now! Meet Me Next Christmas  It is that time for holiday movies and I am here for it. Netflix has so many that I do not even know where to begin but my first watch was Meet Me Next Christmas and I enjoyed it more than I expected. Meet Me Next Christmas stars Christina Milian, Devale Ellis, Kofi Siriboe, Kalen Allen, and The Pentatonix. First of all, you had me at Pentatonix because I love them.  Now Christina Milian is the queen of these little romcom movies and I always try to catch her because she’s cute, adorable, and seems like a really nice person. I watched her in Resort to Love which was super cute and enjoyable. I also watched Falling In Love. These were my two recent watches. I like to root for her because of her bad breakup with The Dream even though she is doing great now and has remarried. The Deliverance The Deliverance playing on Netflix and starring Glenn Close as Ebony's mom, Alberta, Andra Day as Ebony, Caleb McLaughlin as her son, Demi Singleton as her daughter, Monique as Cynthia who was the social worker, Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, and Tasha Smith which I always love seeing in a cameo role. It is a horror suspense story that basically follows this family that moves into a house and there is an evil spirit that possesses the youngest son and subsequently the rest of the family. Trap Trailer Talk Trap trailer was released in late April and I am intrigued. I have not really been that excited about a trailer in a long time. I actually have not even been that thrilled about the latest movie releases. But this trailer caught my interest even though I still have not forgiven M. Night Shyamalan for butchering The Last Airbender . I know it was 14 years ago but still. Honestly, his last few movies have been fairly decent in my opinion. Knock at the Cabin was riveting; Old was interesting enough to keep me watching till the end; and Glass was a fun watch.  The Trap trailer introduces us to a loving dad taking his daughter to a popular concert. Only the concert isn’t just a concert. It is a “trap” set to catch a diabolical serial killer, which, from the trailer, is non other than the doting father, himself. Mea Culpa Mea Culpa, produced, written, and directed by Tyler Perry, is making quite a splash on social media. Released on Netflix the film stars Kelly Rowland and Mea Harper, Trevante Rhodes as Zyair Malloy, RonReaco Lee as Jimmy, and Nick Sagar as Ray. The story follows Mea, a defense attorney, who takes on a high-profile murder case in the defense of Zyair. A couple of things to get out of the way. Nick Sagar looked so familiar to me, then I realized he was in the Princess Switch. However, his being the love interest in the Princess Switch movies with Vanessa Hudgens would have been the farthest thought from my mind because the characters were so different. But yet, he is one and the same; good job on him. If you haven’t watched the Princess Switch movies on Netflix, you should but only if you enjoy cute, corny Lifetime Christmas movies. Madame Web A few weekends ago there were quite a number of people at the theaters. My daughter and I have been going to the movies at least once a month for some time now and we are usually one of few in attendance. Most of the time we have the entire movie theater to ourselves, even on the opening night of a popular new movie. However, this weekend the theater was unusually busy. It almost reminded me of prepandemic movie days. Interestingly, I knew that the people were not there to see Madame Web. I asked the attendant and she said most people were there to see the new Bob Marley movie, although the reviews that I have been reading and hearing about are not that great for that film either.  We went to see Madame Web. I was not sure what to expect because I did not get much from the previews besides Clarence being a fake Jesus. I was compelled to see it because one, of all the beautiful melanin, and two, the cast is absolutely a phenomenal ensemble of actors. I expected it to be a full-on comedy watch. Although it has comedic elements, The Book of Clarence was so much more than that. Christians, reasonable ones anyway, you will not be offended, and atheists, this is probably not your thing.  Not knowing what I was getting into tempered my expectations, which left me open to anything. I expected the acting to be top-notch, and it absolutely was. LaKeith Stanfield was a delight to watch. The sigh is because I really hate when a movie has all the elements for the making of a great experience and it turns out not to meet the mark.  Leave the World Behind follows a family that booked a vacation home away from the city for a little rest and relaxation when an unexplained blackout happens and they along with the vacation homeowner have to figure out what the heck is going on.  Off rip, I am watching this because the cast is amazing. Dampyr Movie Review You can also listen to the podcast now! Dampyr is a new addition to Netflix that was originally an Italian release in October 2022. It is a vampire horror movie that I ended up watching by accident of sorts. My son put it on to kill time while having dinner and then I got intrigued and decided to finish it. Dampyr stars Wade Briggs as the main character, Harlan; Frida Gustavsson as Tesla; Stuart Martin as Kurjak and David Morrissey as the villain, Gorka. It tells the story of Harlan who is unaware of his legacy as a Dampyr which is the son of a vampire who has the power to kill other vampires, much like Blade. He pretends to be a vampire hunter conning people with his sidekick, Yuri, to make a living. Harlan doesn’t even believe in vampires until he is forced to come face to face with the reality of not only vampires existing but also how he fits into the puzzle.  I have stopped watching horror movies on purpose for a long time now; however, this was not giving ...
