When high-powered book editor Margaret faces deportation to her native Canada, the quick-thinking exec declares that she's actually engaged to her unsuspecting put-upon assistant Andrew, who she's tormented for years. This is a romantic comedy, so expect the expected as far as plot points go and how the film turns out. I love romantic comedies so I was already off to a good start. I love Sandra Bullock as a serious actress and in a comedic role, so seeing her in a romantic comedy after so many years was a bonus. Over all, I thoroughly enjoyed The Proposal .
