News Roll Call: Televison

I've been meaning to post these since the 19th of May. Things get crazy. Fox keeps 'Dollhouse,' 'Bones,' adds 'Glee' Fox found out that developing two hit dramas allows a little more flexibility and patience going forward. At least that's what can be taken away from its schedule for next season, which was announced Monday in New York. Phew, even though I did not keep up with Bones, I am relieved that it is sticking around for another season. Ryan Murphy on Glee: People Don't Just Break Out Into Song; "There ... Twilight: Jacob is in the House!

Are you Team Edward or Team Jacob? Well, if you are into the book or the movie, Jacob is about to make his debut. If he looks familiar to some of us, think The Adventures of SharBoy and LavaGirl . They grow fast right? 'Twilight Saga: New Moon' one-sheet debuts: Hello, Jacob! And ... The teaser one-sheet for The Twilight Saga: New Moon, in theaters Nov. 20, has been released confirming what we long suspected -- both Edward (Robert Pattinson) and Jacob (Taylor Lautner) are hotter with shorter hair. Amy Adams vs. Isla Fisher

Image
I can never get these two striaght sometimes. For all I know it has been one person all along. Crazy right. They are both beautiful and both have the acting chops to make me laugh. They are both fun to watch, even better now that I know they are two different people. I have no excuse for that one LOL. Amy Adams and Isla Fisher.

Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian (2009)

Image
First off, I do not know why I am still up. I should have done school work tonight. I will be hating life tomorrow. This is my review. I got to watch this with the kids and my mother. I do not believe she appreciated the movie as much as my kids did. Ben Stiller returns to the role of night watchman Larry Daly in this sequel to the 2006 family film NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM. This adventure takes the action to Washington D.C, where things at the Smithsonian aren't quite as quiet as one might think... (movies.yahoo.com) Ben Stiller as Larry Daley was good as usual. He was funny. His comedic timing on point. I loved him. He was great, as should be expected. Amy Adams as Amelia Earhart- I really like Amy Adams; although I keep getting her confused with Isla Fisher. Is that just me? Anyway, she played her character well. She was cute but a little too much for me. She was way too hyper and all energetic. She mad me feel awkward about sitting my butt in a movie theater with daylight wasting.

This Weekend at the Movies

Terminator Salvation Christian Bale stars as John Connor, leader of the human resistance against the machines, in the return of the hit sci-fi action franchise. I love the Terminator franchise and I really like Christian Bale (even with all the yelling). I am just not crazy about what I see on the trailer for this movie. If I get the chance, I will go see it just because I'm curious and loyal (lol). Hopefully, when I do see it I will be pleasant surprised. Dance Flick The Wayans family returns with their raunchy brand of spoof comedy, setting out to parody movies like 'Step Up' and 'Save the Last Dance.' This thing as usual looks silly and funny (on some parts). Unfortunately, with the box office pressure, I am not really sure that the Wayans brothers are going to get the numbers they want. Night at the Museum:Battle of the Smithsonian Ben Stiller returns as the bewildered night watchman who witnesses exhibits coming alive. I cannot wait to take the kids to see t

Beyonce Has an Ego

Have you seen her new video? Yes, you have. You saw it in "Single Ladies" and "Diva" and part of it in "Hero." Leotards, black and white, three girls dancing and Beyonce in the middle. Um, isn't this taking a theme or gimmick a little too far? I love the song and all but really? Does she not think her fans would want to see something different, a little more creative, in her videos.

Here's a good word for the weekend. Enjoy it. I will spend most of the time in my hair and in my books, so I will really need some composure this weekend. Kill Them with Kindness

Image
"Kill them with kindness" is one of my favorite sayings. It is even better when it is in use. Unfortunately, I do not always remember that, especially when someone has ticked me off, hurt my feelings or insulted me in some way. The first thing I want to do is curse them out or be rude right back. More and more, though, I am trying to stay mindful of my emotions. The last thing I want to do is give someone else the ability to control me by pushing my buttons, getting me to react. Instead of getting sucked in, I try to remember myself, remember the person I am trying to be and remain calm. I reign in my biting retort, take a deep breath and speak in a more pleasant tone (it doesn't always work out that way LOL). A non-reaction or an opposite one tends to throw things off. A kind word, more often than not, goes a long way. If anything, when the cops come to break up the fight, at least there will only be once crazy, out-of-control person for them to look at. Anger is drainin

Star Trek (2009)

Image
The fate of the galaxy rests in the hands of bitter rivals. One, James Kirk, is a delinquent, thrill-seeking Iowa farm boy. The other, Spock, was raised in a logic-based society that rejects all emotion. As fiery instinct clashes with calm reason, their unlikely but powerful partnership is the only thing capable of leading their crew through unimaginable danger, boldly going where no one has gone before (Yahoo Movies). If you love action then this movie is one to see. Even if a person never watched Star Trek before, this new installment of the franchise is worth watching. The pace of this movie was just right. It had a mixture of everything thrown into the bowl: a little bit of comedy, romance, lots of action, pain, and bravery. The cast assembled to take on the roles of characters some people are all to familiar with were right on target. Special effect were seamless. I did not once stop to think about the graphics; that is a good thing. Everything flowed together. Now if a person is
