Jidenna wants a Little Bit More

Image
Jidenna's A Little Bit More Enjoy a little Afro-Caribbean vibe with Jidenna's A Little Bit More. I have been rocking to this release for weeks now. Get up and dance to it. Reminiscence about the one time you spent with that one special person that was not enough and when it came to an end, you wished you had a little bit more time. A Little Bit More That one  time we spent the  entire weekend in  bed touching and loving was not  enough

Be Open to the Energy Around You

Image
Energy Today the universe spoke and so I listened directed to where I was meant to be A few weeks back, I went to my first Reiki circle and it was enlightening, inspiring, moving and energizing but most importantly relaxing. My mind was refocused and I felt a renewed spirit of appreciation. I knew I was meant to be there at that particular time. I then looked at my life and the people that were in my life and the people that have come into my life; I looked at where I was at presently and the transitions I have made to get here. I looked at all of that and realized regardless of my misgivings and doubts, I was not only where I was meant to be but also that I'm going in the right direction, and that is truly a beautiful thing. We are not ignored. We are not left to our own devices. We are guided and subtly directed. We can choose to follow this path. We can choose to engage with these flashes of intuition. Or we can choose to ignore them to our own detriment. God does not

Keep your Family and Friends Close

Image
Family and Friends Bloodline is worth living for and friendship reminds us to keep pushing despite the set backs This cinquain was inspired by the last two episodes of Lethal Weapon. The picture I used is of my grandprents, may they rest in peace. I miss them dearly. They were certainly the everything in our family who both lived well into thier nineties. I remember my granpa would look at all of his kids, his grandkids and his great grand kids and say, in his native tongue, Haitian Creole, "You see them, they are all me. They are all from me." A fact that he was extremely proud of. A fact that I am certain kept him going for a few more years after my grandmother past. Family is the means by which we live on. For some it is the reason to keep going. I can speak from experience and share that my children saved my life when all seemed bleak. With that being said, friendships cannot be discounted. Good friends can help keep us straight and keeps us laughing and help r

Show Review: Lethal Weapon

Image
Lethal Weapon Lethal Weapon, the television installmemt, stars Damon Waynes as Murtaugh and Clayne Crawford as Riggs. When I first saw the previews for this, I thought why? It looked a little hokey, and I was skeptical that they could do it justice. However, I did want to give it a chance though because an affinity for Damon Waynes, what with In Living Color, My Wife and Kids, and, of course, Major Payne in his list of comedy credits. After watching the second episode, this is one show that will be on the television rotation. It has a combination of feel good with action packed car chases, shootings and fist fights. The normal Black family love, without anything extra (meaning just regular kids and parents and love) is also a beautiful thing to see. Throw in crazy Riggs dealing with his grief and you have an assortment of material to make a watch worthy show. Add the ray of sunshine from Keesha Sharp's (Muetaugh's wife) big beautiful smile along with Jordana Brewster&#

The future belongs to those who believe

Image
The future belongs to those who believe Your future, more importantly, the future that you want is already waiting for you. Are you going to grab it? Let us get together and do those things that will lead us staright to it. It all starts with a single thought that morphs and grows and becomes alive and gives life. It starts with the belief that it is possible. It starts in your mind and your heart and with the faith that you have in yourself and your community to make it happen. Believe that you have the power to make it happen. Believe that you already have done it, that you have arrived; then take the necessary steps to meet yourself there. Taking the steps to meet yourself is just as important as believing you are there or can be there, but without that thought, that awareness, that belief in yourself there is no spark to jump start us in the right direction. Channel the belief, harness the power. We have to do it for ourselves because sometimes, there is no one else to

How to get to the Good Place

Image
The Good Place is a new television show on NBC about a ridiculously selfish person, Eleanor played by Kristen Bell, who accidentally finds herself in the good place, a version of heaven. Check out the review here . We all want to end up in the good place right? In this new series, you get there by a mathetical calculation that weighs your dead, no matter how small, against each other. It is reminscent of Santa's naughty or nice list, except you do not get presents from a jolly, old, fat white guy, you get the gift of eternal life in this awesome heaven. Many of the world's religions have ideas and paths on how people get into heaven or carry on in the after life. But I propose we dispense with those ideas for a moment. As much as I care about the eternity of my spiritual being, I also care about the experience of my present life. The present experience of our mind, body, and soul is equally important as what will happen after in that we are placed here to live, to love, to

Show Review: The Good Place

Show Review: The Good Place Kristen Bell and Ted Danson change up the after life. I really like Kristen Bell. I am a die hard Veronica Mars fan and wish they would just make the movie already or a revival miniseries or- oh forget it. Kristen Bell has a cute, quirky, sweet personality that comes across in her characters. This new role as Eleanor fits her well even though she is a total pass (I don't think we can say ass in the good place). The good place is like heaven; unfortunately, Eleanor does not belong there and her presence is messing up Michael's, played by Ted Danson, perfect heavenly creation. It is nice to see Ted Danson on the small screen. He looks remarkably well. The premier episode was really good for the first 20 minutes. I had some laugh out loud moments which I always appreciate. It is hard to tell if there is enough meet in The Good Place to say it has staying power. The Good Place is cute and a good watch. It is all about how an extremely selfish per

Awakening

Image
Awakening When you feel energy changing within and know it's so beautiful that you have to smile Smiling is all good; the only thing bad about smiling is doing it at the wrong time. Smiling and laughter are wonderful stress relievers. Smiling makes people around you feel better. Smiling makes you feel better. So, if you get anything from this, let it be to smile more. I have been smiling to myself a lot more latley because I have been feeling energized. Unfortunately, it is not the kind of energy that has me zooming around like The Flash, getting things done. It is a spiritual awakening type of energy, an awareness of my powerful vibrations. Lately, I  have been learning more and more about the brain and how it works and how our physical and mental aspects relate and interconnect. Scientifist have only begun to scratch the surface but it is amazing and inspiring. What they are learning, in my opinion, is simply connecting the dots between what we spiritual people have kn
