35 and Ticking

Image
35 and Ticking totally went under my radar. If it wasn't for a girlfriend of mine, I would not have even known to watch this movie. Now on DVD, it is a funny look at love and relationships among women who are well, 35 and ticking. When I think about all the actors in the movie, I think it might be easier to tell who was not in it. The thing that I enjoyed most was that these were regular folk (well most of them were regular), living their everyday lives. I just plain old enjoyed the movie and I am a sucker for good endings. The cast alone is a pretty good draw starting with Kevin Hart . Nicole Ari Parke, Tamala Jones, Kieth Robinson and Meagan Goode round it off but there are a lot of surprising faces. B

Verizon Wireless Releases the Voyager

Crunch Gear has a really good review of the new Verizon Wireless cell phone. My husband cannot wait till he can get his hands on this phone. LG Voyager review CrunchGear, NY - 11 hours agoAs you may recall, I was a bit harsh on the Voyager a while back and I really hate when I have to take things I say back. The Voyager has come a long way ... "Let’s just get down to the nitty gritty. The VX10000 runs on Verizon’s EV-DO networks so everything is fast, but it can be clunky and video playback was bad. GPS is always a great feature to have, but when it can’t even find you in the airport with full bars that’s a bad sign. I’ll let this one slide since I did test it while waiting in the airport because I know it works outside. The touch screen, while it’s nice and bright and big, can sometimes be unresponsive or just slow. The 2-megapixel camera isn’t that great and it lacks a flash so don’t expect too much from it. Would it kill LG to add Wi-Fi? The Voyager’s predecessors always had gr...

Leap Frog's Talking Letter Factory

For those of you who have kids, this is a great video. My son is four and he loves this video. He is actually learning his letter sounds with it. The way they teach the letter sounds is fun and entertaining. I suggest that a parent watches with your child, so that you can reinforce the learning while they are watching and also when your child is not watching it. I play it several times for my son and he enjoys watching it, especially if I am watching with him. Look, if you are looking for a good gift, Leap Frog's Talking Letter Factory is the way to go. That Talking Word Factory is pretty cool too. Other Leap products

V Tech Kidizoom Digital Camera

My son recently turned four years old, and I wanted to get him something cool for his birthday. I decided on a digital camera so that he can keep his grubby little hands off mine. I actually wanted to get him a camera for Christmas 2006, but since I am a late shopper the one I wanted was all sold out, everywhere. Of course, I got sucked in by the commercials advertising the Fisher Price Kids-Tough Digital Camera. I decided that, that was the one I had to have. Never mind that it was averaging about 70 bucks. Well, when his birthday came around, I got it for him. When I finally opened it up, I was completely disappointed. Okay, so I know it is a kid's camera and won't take the best quality pictures, but, seriously, this Fisher Price digital camera was a piece of crap. I promptly boxed that sucker up and took it back to the store. I decided that before I left, I was going to test the new camera out first. So here I was, at the counter, asking for scissors, and insisting I open up...
