Ten Ways to Live Gloriously: Introduction

Introduction There are people out there, some non-Christians and Christians alike, that believe God wants us to be miserable. Maybe some even believe that he wants us to suffer. They look at all the bad things going on in the world, maybe in their lives, and think that it is God’s fault and that he is not perfect and not really all that good. So does God want us to suffer or expect us to suffer? We did eat of the fruit. I believe that the life we live is not without suffering. The life we have chosen is not without suffering, but God does want us to rise above it or else why bother with Jesus? God hurts when we hurt. The Bible is not a book to control, as some believe. What people seem to misunderstand is that the all-knowing, all-powerful God has given us his living word to set us free from ourselves and the pain. He wants us to live in his full glory. He does not want us to hurt or to suffer or to die. I know it is hard to believe when we look at life or even read some of the stories...

Stay Away from Apathy

Today I feel blah. I know that I need to write something so that I can speak to God, but I don’t know where to begin. In truth, I have not inclination to do so; however, I forced myself. I looked up scripture and did not feel moved or touched by anything until I found 1st Thessalonians, chapter five, starting at verse five. This lack of zest and emotion is from a dark place. This lack of interest, true excitement is not of God. Imagine ...

Single & Satisfied Part Three

Now that we know that all singles have a common duty but don’t have all things in common, and that accepting yourself leads to single satisfaction let’s conclude the ways I have found to make my success in being single and satisfied. Treat yourself. Look there is no reason for any single person to be cooped up in the house all the time. Get out! Enjoy yourself. How else will you be able to meet people and fellowship? A friend of mine used to joke that the only way she was probably going to get married was if the pizza man asked her, because for so long that was the only person that she saw outside of work. Now that seems funny to some but think about it. How often do you just go out and enjoy being you. Enjoy who you are and revel in what God has done for you. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son … John 3:16 . Take yourself on a date. Get a pedicure, manicure, a haircut or stitch some weave in. Whatever makes you feel good, do it! Don’t wait for anyone to vali...
