The Deliverance The Deliverance playing on Netflix and starring Glenn Close as Ebony's mom, Alberta, Andra Day as Ebony, Caleb McLaughlin as her son, Demi Singleton as her daughter, Monique as Cynthia who was the social worker, Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, and Tasha Smith which I always love seeing in a cameo role. It is a horror suspense story that basically follows this family that moves into a house and there is an evil spirit that possesses the youngest son and subsequently the rest of the family. The Deliverance is reported to be based on a true story. Rating 6/10. I did not find it too scary. Listen to the full review

  Alien: Romulus Listen Now Listen! Listen, listen, listen to me! Go see this movie. I realize I am late on seeing Alien: Romulus as it came out in theaters two weeks ago, but I have arrived. I was on the edge of my seat for most of this film. They went with a younger crew this time, portraying a group of green young adults who were just in search of a better life. There was an affinity towards them succeeding built in early on. Considering, I had recently rewatched the first Alien movie, this one felt almost full circle to me. This of course was the intention considering it is somewhat of a sequel to Alien and a prequel to Aliens, taking place 20 years after the events of Alien.  Alien: Romulus follows Rain, played by Cailee Spaeny, and her “brother,” Andy played by David Jonsson, as they decide to help scavenge a ship so they can realize their ultimate dream of going to another planet where they can see the sun. Belle 2013 Movie Review Belle is a film that was released back in 2013, starring Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Dido Elizabeth Belle, Tom Wilkinson, and Lord Mansfield, Sam Reid as John Davinier, and Sarah Gadon as Elizabeth. This is one the movies that completely went under my radar until a couple of years ago. I decided to watch it because it looked interesting and I thoroughly enjoyed Gugu Mbatha-Raw’s work. I did not realize I was in for a treat. The movie is loosely (very loosely) based on a real person, Dido Elizabeth Belle who was the child of a prominent white British admiral and a black woman from the West Indies. In the film, he brought her back to England when her mother died during a time in which black people were still being enslaved and England was an active participant in the slave trade.
