Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D

Image
Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D comes on television this fall on ABC and my inner scifi geek is so freaken excited! First off Agent Coulson is NOT dead. Whaaaat! That right there already has me geeked up, ready to watch. Additionally, it satisfies my super hero fix that Heroes (remember that show) left me longing for a long time before the series actually ended. I am hoping this show is DVR worthy (it's the only way I watch anymore, except for Shonda Rhime's Scandal of course- although I still DVR [I love how that is a verb now] it to watch again). So far though I really like the trailers that are out there.

Man of Steel - Official Trailer 3

Image
Man of Steel US Release June 14, 2013 Directed by Zack Snyder. Starring Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Russell Crowe The third trailer for this film is the best trailer I have watched in a while. It gives me that inspired feeling and definitely draws me to see the movie. Of course my kids cannot wait till it comes out.

Star Trek into Darkness

Image
Star Trek into Darkness Directed by J.J. Abrams. With Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Benedict Cumberbatch. Star Trek into Darkness starts off with Captain Kirk and his crew on a mission to observe a planet that went south. Instead of observing they end up saving the primitive planet from natural disaster. This action places crew members in jeopardy and causes Kirk to violate Federation rules. Ultimately, Kirk lands himself in trouble as usual and is demoted until disaster strikes in the form of Khan and he gets his ship and crew back to ultimately save the day. I enjoyed the second installment of this rebooted Stark Trek a little less than I did the first one. Characterization stayed true and the dynamics between the actors were on point but there were moments that the plot itself was slightly disappointing. Chris Pine as James T. Kirk was on point as the fly-in-the-face-of-rules captain with a heart for his crew. Zachary Quinto as Spock played the role of balancing his hum

My Mom Brings Home Condoms

Image
Between my mother and children, I am never low on things that me make laugh my butt off. I'm sitting at home in the lanai, enjoying a beautiful day off when my mother comes through the door and drops a handful of condoms on my laptop. Yeah, I was confused and immediately curious. She goes on to say she wondered why the nurses looked at her funny when she grabbed a hand full of them and dropped them in her purse. LOL well senior citizens need love too right?  Except, she thought they were prepackaged wipes! Lol. She kills me.

May Workout

Image
I firmly believe that the reason I am not closer to my life goals is due to my stellar procrastination skills that are backed up by my uncanny mastery of inconsistency. This applies to most aspects of my life, especially working out. That is why I like these workout challenges that I find online. Thank you to those who put them together and share them. I am a touch more motivated to do them as a personal challenge. I started late this month because I had to slowly acclimate my body to working out again after taking a few weeks off. However, what I thought was going to be cake kicked my butt especially,  the minute wall sit. I'm only up to 30 seconds. I welcome those who want to join in ;).

Emeli Sandé's Our Version of Events

Image
Emeli Sandé performed at the 2012 Olympics, and I had not idea who she was but I know her work now. Someone on my Facebook page posted one of her videos that caught my interest. I was hooked after 30 seconds. I searched her out on Youtube and not too long afterward, downloaded Our Version of Events . What is up with these English chicks (cue Adele) stealing my heart through their lyrics and melodies and, of course, phenomenal voices. Sandé is concerned about making music that last. If she keeps on writing music like her debut solo album, she will be hard to forget. Our Version of Events consists of 15 beautifully crafted tracks. Personally, I do not find this album easily categorized as it is not strictly R&B but mixed with some jazzy undertones and has much crossover appeal. My favorite two cuts (which are quite difficult to narrow down) are “Wonder” and “Breaking the Law.” Our Version of Events Emeli Sandé Rating: 10.
