Psalms 32 In Prayer

To day in a National Day of Prayer. I thought Psalms 32 would be perfect. 1Blessed is he whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. 2Blessed is the man whose sis the Lord does not count against him and in whose spirit is not deceit. 3When I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long. 4For day and night your hand was heavy upon me; my strength was sapped as in the heat of summer. 5Then I acknowledged my sis to you and did not cover up my iniquity. I said, "I will confess my transgressions to the Lord"-- and you forgave the guilt of my sin. 6Therefore let everyone who is godly pray to you while you may be found; surely when the might waters rise, they will not reach him. 7You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance. 8I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you. 9Do not be like the horse of the mule, which have no understanding bu...

Psalms 27 in Prayer

The Lord in my light and my salvation-- whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life-- of whom shall I be afraid? 2When evil men advance against me to devour my flesh, when my enemies and my foes attack me, they will stumble and fall. 3Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then will I be confident. 4One thing I ask of the Lord, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gave upon the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple. 5for in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his tabernacle and set me high upon a rock. 6Then my head will be exalted above the enemies who surround me; at this tabernacle will I sacrifice with shouts of joy; I will sing and make music to the Lord. 7Hear my voice when I call, O Lord; be merciful to me and answer me. 8My heart says of you, "Seek his face!" Your face, Lord, I will seek....

Official Girl

Lacey stood just outside of the restaurant, watching the young couple order their meals. He looked dashing with a tailored suit to fit his athletic height, and she wore an elegant little black dress accentuated with a red silk scarf. She smiled at how comfortable they looked together. The tip she got on her cell phone was definitely worth it. Lacey turned from the couple to look back at the messages. She had no idea where they came from, appreciating them nevertheless. The telephone buzzed in her hand. “Hello,” Lacey answered, slightly exasperated. “Are you there? Did you find them? How do they look?” The questions came without pause. Lacey turned back to the window, peering at the couple as they laughed. “Yes, I found them. I will call you later. Stop bugging me.” She ended the call without waiting for a response. She pushed number 2 and waited for an answer. “Hey, babe. I just got here … No, the flight was great. I even slept for a couple of hours.” Lacey let the lies fall out of her...

Beware of False Prophets

The bible says in 2nd Timothy 4: 3-5; for the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; and they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. We know that these words were spoken to Timothy by Paul in his second letter to him, but do we realize how important these words are to us today? Let us examine the text a bit closer to see how it relates to us today. First, let us talk about sound doctrine. What is sound doctrine? The answer is: The word of God! Then Brother Jones; what is the problem? Why are believers having such a hard time enduring God's word and standing firm on sound doctrine? I believe that it begins with listening to and obeying God . As people, we are so accustomed to having things our way, or doing things the normal or tr...

Say a Prayer

Can I just tell you that I truly dislike chain letters even "Christian" ones. I just can't stand that I have to prove something by forwarding the letter on. I feel that I do not really need to do a darn thing to prove anything to anybody. I guess that is that rebel (just a touch) in me. Saying all that, I did a an e-mail that I really liked, so I will share it. Keep in mind that I am posting this exactly as it reads in the e-mail minus the request to forward it on. It is a great prayer. --------------------------------- Dear Lord, I thank You for this day,I thank You for my being able to see and to hear this morning.I'm blessed because You are a forgiving God and an understanding God.You have done so much for me and You keep on blessing me.Forgive me this day for everything I have done, said or thought that was not pleasing to you. I ask now for Your forgiveness. Please keep me safe from all danger and harm.Help me to start this Day with a new attitude and plenty of gr...

Single & Satisfied Part Two

Are you ready for part two? If you missed part one, here is the link, Single & Satisfied Part One . I am not single but I am loving this post. ------------------------------------------ Single & Satisfied Part Two Now that we know that all singles have a common duty but don’t have all things in common, let’s look at another way I have found to build my success in being single and satisfied. You must accept yourself. Seems simple at first; however, this is what is tripping most singles up. Most of us haven’t determined who we are spiritually, mentally and/or physically. Spiritually we have to understand that we are not perfectly good. We are designed, however, to aspire to perfection in love. Love. A small word with so much power. Christ speaks of love as one of the greatest things that you could do of him, others and of yourself (Deuteronomy 6:5; Leviticus 19:18). However, we just can’t seem to apply this to ourselves most of the time. It is almost as if it is a disease to lov...

Doubting God to His Face

I cannot say that I go through life confident about my hopes and dreams and plans. I wish I could say that I never ever doubt God. I can't though. It is hard to keep that positive attitude going strong when things don't go the way we want or expect. We know that nothing happens by chance, yet when something disappointing happens to us we doubt that God has our best interest at heart. Abraham fell face down; he laughed and said to himself, "Will a son be born to a man a hundred years old? Will Sarah bear a child at the age of ninety?" 18And Abraham said to God, "If only Ishmael might live under your blessing!" 19Then God said, "Yes, but your wife Sarah will bear you a son and you will call him Isaac ... ~ Genesis 17:17-19 At least I am in good company. The crazy thing about this passage is that Abraham is with God. God is actually telling Abraham that He will give him a son, and Abraham is doubting him to his face. Now, I don't feel so bad. Personall...

Purpose Driven Life Day 7: The Reason For Everything

For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever! Amen. ~ Romans 11:36 This chapter was very interesting because so many people talk about living for God and following God and being faithful to God; but the reason why some people feel that way is because God will bless us. This chapter clearly demonstrates that He may not bless us in the way we want or hope. We should not care what God will or will not bless us with because we should be doing everything for His glory and not to get something back. I know ... it is easier said than done. Even with the best intentions sometimes that selfish thought sneaks up on us. Nevertheless, everything should be done first, for the love of God and second, to glorify Him. There should be no selfishness involved. Furthermore, we should not even doubt that God will take care of us. Of course that is another area I sometimes struggle with. Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable ...
