Denzel Washington is back in Safe House with Ryan Reynolds . Safe House is set to release in February 2012. Denzel plays, Tobin, a very bad bad dude who is to be held under Matt's ,Reynold, watch in a (wait for it) ... safe house. However, something goes wrong and Matt (a CIA newbie) is on the run with the fugitive trying to keep him from being killed. Safe House Official website

The Dark Knight Rises

Image
The Dark Knight Rises trailer came out recently and exploded online. I already wanted to see the movie just off the first two installments alone, so the trailer would have to be super horrible to turn me off. Well, I want to see the movie even more now. Christian Bale (rumors are he is not reprising the role after this) is still fine as ever and although I am not sure how Anne Hathaway is going to play out a Catwoman, I am rooting for her. It is always nice to see Morgan Freeman . Everything else looks delectably dark and dangerous. Me likey.

Prometheus Teaser Trailer

Image
So here is the new trailer for Prometheus , starring Noomi Rapace, Charlize Theron, Michael Fassbender, , Idris Elba, and Patrick Wilson. Released date: June 2012 Now I am biased already because I really like science fiction, but keeping that in mind, the teaser does make me want to see the movie. The music acts as a really good build up and showing things blowing up always adds points.

The

Visit the official site

Willow Smith is a Fireball!

Image
Continuing my Willow Smith binge this morning. My kids are going to be bananas over this song. I saw her perform it on X-Factory (that's what my daughter calls it; don't judge lol) and liked it, so here it is.

Is that Cicely Tyson in Willow Smith's Video?

Image
I am not really feeling this song but was that Cicely Tyson in Willow Smith's video? I mean who does that? I can't be mad at her parents for using their connections. The quality of her videos are off the chain. Behind the scenes of her video. I like that Jada is right there. I also enjoyed the explanation of the video.

The Avengers Trailer

Image
I am so flipping excited about The Avengers . The trailer is below. I was a disappointed that Edward Norton was not going to be reprising the role of Hulk. He was very good, but I think Mark Ruffalo is a pretty darn good replacement and great casting. I'm looking forward to his protrayal. Release May 2012

Rihanna Talks that Talk

Image
I know I am late on this considering that Rihanna's new album has been released for a few weeks now, but I have to chime in because I did purchase Riri's, Talk that Talk . I am a lover of R&B, and although, this is not like classic rhythm and blues because it is a little on the pop side (I love pop though), I thoroughly enjoy it. The beats and melody are little on the edgy side and the lyrics touch on that yearning side of us, always looking for love (but seeming to settle for lust). My favorite cut is number ten, "Watch N Learn." The tract is hot. If you want something to get your techno club groove to skip over to tract 2, "Where Have You Been." Overall, it is a fun album.

Started reading My Soul to Take

Image
I am about 1/3 into My Soul to Take by Tananarive Due, and I can't wait to see how she brings everything together. My Soul to Take if the fourth book in her Immortal Series. I will have a review when I get back but if you haven't read the other books, get started because they are worth the time. I love her writing and the story lines. For reviews on the other three books go to my books page and scroll. Trailer for My Soul to Take

Crazy, Stupid, Love

Image
I have watched this movie several times all ready and I just love it. It has a Shakespearean comedy approach to it that I appreciate. The actors in this film (Steve Carell, Ryan Gosling, Julianne Moore, Emma Stone and the supporting cast) all do a great job of pulling off their well rounded characters and making it believable. The story line itself (an early marriage working it's way through the crisis of infidelity and the people it affects) is as real as it gets. Then throw in some great comedic timing, sprinkle in a little fairy tale and you have an enjoyable watch.
