Confidence is key to taking control of your life. I believe in the power of positive self esteem. That will be an ongoing theme with me. Self doubt can be crushing. It can lead you to give up on yourself which is unacceptable. You have to be confident enough not in your ability, not in your skill, not in your talent but in your existence. You have to be confident in your presence. Be confident in the fact that you are created, you are here, and you draw breath and that alone makes you worthy of fighting for your place in this life. Abilities, gifts, and skills can be acquired but our existence is a gift in itself. It is worthy, you are worthy of your best effort. You cannot let what others expect of you to deter you. Ever!
How do other people know what you are truly capable of? How do they know? They do not. If the great leaders of yesterday stopped at other's expectations, do you think they would have accomplished anything at all. George Washington Carver and W.E.B. DuBois would be nothing but air and we would not have benefited from their contributions if they stopped at what was expected of them. Remember who you are. Our power lies not in the things that we can do but in the innate force that stirs in our souls and drives of to do. Go beyond expectations for we are limitless.
