K-Ville
From AOL
Starring: Anthony Anderson, Tawny Cypress, Cole Hauser, Maximiliano Hernandez, John Carroll Lynch, Blake Shields Premiere Date: Mon., Sep. 17, 2007
Premise: Two years after Hurricane Katrina, much of New Orleans is still in chaos, so Felony Action Squad officer Marlin Boulet isn't too worried about bending a few rules when it comes to collaring the city's most wanted criminals. His new partner, Trevor Cobb, is a veteran of the war in Afghanistan who has come to the Crescent City in search of redemption from a past that could endanger both him and his police partner. Joining them on the squad are hotheaded and impetuous Billy "K-9" Faust, wise guy Jeff "Glue Boy" Gooden, hardbitten Ginger "Love Tap" LeBeau and Capt. James Embry, who keeps his team running smoothly with equal parts humor and sheer grit.

So, I will admit that I was a little skeptical at first, then I watched the first episode at fox.com. Anthony Anderson is not a screaming fool. He actually plays a complex character with some touching moments with his family. Cole Hauser plays his partner, mysterious tough guy with by-the-books attitude.
For all us Heroes lovers, Tawny Cypress, formerly Simone in Heroes, plays the touch chick cop. She is gorgeous and isn't one to be messed with.
Fox decided to allow viewers to watch the premiere episode on line at Fox.com. I really thought this was a desperate move. Whether it is or isn't, I am glad that I took the time to check out the episode, commercial free. It kept getting better and more intriguing. The show needs to succeed for several reasons: cast diversity; I would love to see Cole Hauser get some props (he is a really good act0r, IMO), Simone (my bad, Tawny) is in it, Anthony Anderson is not a screaming fool, it is actually well put together on all fronts (writing, actors, directing, etc); and K-Ville does not allow viewers to forget that New Orleans (and other affected areas) are still rebuilding.
Watch the episode at Fox.com when it premiers Monday, September 17th.
