Bible Reading Made Easy

21 My son, pay attention to what I say; listen closely to my words. Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart; 22 for they are life to those who find them and health to a man's whole body. -Proverbs 4:21-22

I cannot count how many times I have said, "I have to read my Bible more." In my case, I was not reading it at all so 'more' would actually mean reading it at all. I would even pray to God about it. I would ask God to help me read the Bible because I know how important it is. I would ask him to give me strength and focus so that I could read the Bible. Then I would go about my own business as if I never uttered the prayer and purposely not even make an attempt to read. There would always be something else to do, something better that got in the way.

Truth is, even though I knew I should have been reading it because it was the right thing to do, I did not, in my heart, care for reading the Bible. It did not factor on my list of priorities. I thought that getting the word in church, when I actually went to church, was enough. So, even though I prayed about it, I believe it was because I felt guilty. I genuinely did not want to spend time reading a book that made me fall asleep by just looking at it.

In the blink of an eye that changed. Here is why and how I know it is God- I actually crave the word. Seriously. I think about reading the bible all the time. I red it in the morning, at night, in the middle of they day. And if I miss a day or a reading (yes that happens) all I could think about is catching up.

People, this is a miracle. On my own, I think I still would have been hoping and then not doing a darn thing to follow up on it. Once I decided to follow the path that Good has set for me, reading the bible has become a normal part of my life. Not only that but God has revealed to me the power of His word. I did not even realize the significance of the bible (not truly) and the power of the words within it. It is everything to me now, and I thank god for allowing me the wisdom of understanding.

Want to read the bible with no fuss? Follow God. If he has been nudging you about your life then hand it over to Him.
