The Four Agreements

The Four Agreements Book review

The Four Agreements is my book of the moment. I am going to start a series discussion on this book as it is quite insightful and impactful. If you haven't had the chance to read it yet, please grab yourself a copy and start your read. I have to warn you though, you have to be open-minded and be ready to be challenged.

There are some concepts that will go against traditional religious beliefs. However, I do feel that anyone from any tradition or religion can take something away from the book. If you are rigid in your thinking and cannot, at the very least, listen to differing thoughts and opinions then this is not the read for you. Otherwise, I think this will make for some very interesting and thought-provoking discussions.

From the back of the book: In The Four Agreements, don Miguel Ruis reveals the source of self-limiting beliefs that rob us of joy and create needless suffering. Based on ancient Toltec wisdom, The Four Agreements offer a powerful code of conduct that can rapidly transform our lives to a new experience of freedom, true happiness, and love.

There are quite a few things that I felt were eye-opening for me and many concepts that I have yet to wrap my mind around. I love that I was able to make connections between some of the philosophies of the Toltec to other belief systems and archetypal ideas throughout history. All in all, it was an enjoyable read and I cannot wait to dig in with you.
