Be Strong and Courageous!

Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged for the Lord your God will be with you where ever you go. – Joshua 1:9

Are you sometimes doubtful about the future or saddened by the way your life is going? It is okay to feel that way sometimes. Some of the greatest biblical leaders had doubts even after they had been face to face with the miracles of God. Life is not always going to be at its best. We are not yet in heaven, so there will be hard times. This is not our final home. We are passing through this world and trying to make the best out of what are given.

What separates us from the rest of the world is our love for God. What should drive us is not the need to live a better life for ourselves but to live a better life for God. Day in and day out we should be working and living for Him. We should be a shinning light for the rest of the world that shows how glorious we are no matter what we are going through. We still laugh and love because God is with us.

What do I have to fear when God is my protector and my provider? Why be discourage when I know that God will not leave me hanging? God wants us to shine with love and joy so that others wonder about the source of our constant peace, and we can proudly proclaim that it is God. More and more, I am coming to terms with living for today and knowing that God will take care of tomorrow. We have to live life to its fullest with what we have no matter how small or how big. I am not saying to stand still but we should strive for the fruits that God has promised. There is so much more to life than money and material things. I know it is hard to believe that with the way television and the world glorifies the bling bling and materialism.

Life is about love, family, friends, and the positive connections we have with others. Our life should be focused more on spreading God’s blessings than wallowing in self pity or sorrow or trying to get things that do not really matter. Why should we over analyze our problems or focus on the things that we do not have? We shouldn’t. Instead, we should pray about them and leave them with God, believing earnestly that he will give us the ability, tools, strength, and knowledge to deal with them. Better yet, God will take care of them supernaturally. It is real. He is able! I have experienced it. Don’t let negativity block the work of the Lord in your life.

Be strong and courageous!
