What Makes You Different?

John 16:33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.

I think that some people think just because a person is a Christian that everything should be all good. That Christians should be perfect and that everything in our lives should be perfect. Well, Lord knows I'm not perfect, not even remotely close. I have got issues and faults to overcome like everyone else. My life has trials and hard times like everyone else. Although God wants to give us the world and wants to bless us without boundaries sometimes our human nature blocks his blessings and sometimes we are blessed regardless. We have free will to make choices on a daily basis and many times the choices we make take us away from Christ instead of bringing us closer to him. However, what makes me saved as opposed to someone else? What makes me a Christian? I love Jesus and accepted him as my Lord and savior. When I let myself, I am enveloped by His awesomeness and power. When I allow myself, my problems mean nothing and I am unaffected because I know that God will always see me through and always protect me and take care of me.

John 16:33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.

The power behind that message should not be lost on us. We should not worry about the trials and tribulations of this world. They should not even exist for us because God is greater than all that. "I have overcome the world." None other than God can say that and be accurate. Awesome and powerful is the God who loves us all, Christian or not. We have to let him love us.
