Purpose Driven Life Day 8: Planned for God's Pleasure

This was written six months ago when I was away in the wilderness for two weeks. -------------------------- For the Lord takes delight in his people ... - Psalms 149:8 NIV This chapter was a hard one for me because it pointed out just how much I was out of line with what God wants from me. It is hard for me to conceptualize worshipping Him always. I understand what Warren is saying, but I disconnect when it comes to transferring it into my life. Now that I have been made aware it is imperative that I remember to worship God with not only my occasional action bu also with my entire life 24/7 days of the week. When I look back at this week alone, I can only think of the many times when my behavior was far from worshipping God. In the beginning I complained quite a bit and mostly I have talked about people that annoy my unkindly. I have not embraced the situation for what God wants me to get out of it. Everyday I endeavor to be better. Now, I just have to constantly remember to live my li

John Edwards ... Yousa liar

A greedy man brings trouble to his family ... - Proverbs 15:27 NIV I bet from the title it would seem that I am judging right? I'm not ... okay, I'm lying. I am just a little bit. In truth my judgement hardly means much though. It's God's judgment that matters in the end. There are many questions that this situation stirs up though and none of which I have the answers to. Nevertheless, this situation paints a picture of the type of screwed up society we are living in where family values take a back seat to selfishness, IMHO. We are greedy people. John Edwards' actions exponentially demonstrate his selfish greed. On the flip side, The National Enquire demonstrated its voracious greed in going after him as well as all other stars, and in turn its greed satisfies our (the public) want for more juicy, gossipy stories about those in the spotlight. Don't get me wrong; I think what John Edwards did is horrible. The adultery is obviously between God, him and his wife, b

The Family that Preys

So ... don't even ask where I've been. I've been in da cut. Anyway, I caught this preview in the theaters then a friend of mine sent me the e-mail about it. So what do you all think? Is this another Why Did I Get Married hit? I am not a fan of all of Tyler Perry movies, but there are a couple of them that I absolutely love. From the looks of this trailer, The Family that Preys seems like it is going to be a very good watch. I am hoping so because I am rooting for TP . He is providing a lot of people with an avenue to exercise their talent that may not have had as much opportunity to do so if he were not in the game. Therefore, I am hoping for the best and I plan on going to watch this at the movies, not boot leg people :). Check out the trailer or visit the official site. Office website: The Family that Preys
